Subtitle translation

Translate a movie's existing subtitles

When a movie already contains subtitles in another language, SubPlayer can translate that text and keep it aligned with the existing timing.

Best fit: a movie already has English or another subtitle track, but not the language you want. Translation requires internet; the movie and audio stay on the PC.

How it works

  1. Open the movie or an SRT file in SubPlayer.
  2. Select the target language.
  3. The app sends subtitle text for cloud translation and receives translated text.
  4. Review the result while watching and adjust timing if needed.

What to expect

Translation can reduce manual work, but it is not guaranteed to be error-free. Names, jokes, dialect and technical dialogue may still need review. Keep the original subtitle track when accuracy matters.

When to use another tool

Use a professional subtitle editor when you need frame-accurate editing, style rules, delivery formats, team review or publication-quality localization.
